One more reason to love first Grade . . .

Okay we already love the school Aidan is at, it being a smarty pants school, and artsy and fun to boot . . . but today gave me reason to love the school even more. Today when I dropped Aidan off the music being played was "Puff The Magic Dragon," and not like a new version or anything . . . it was the old version that I loved when I was a kid. I love that song. And all the kids were singing along, and most of the families at Aidan's school have not even lived in America long enough to know Puff the Magic Dragon. So that's a happy day right there.

The real test is found in the verb tense used in the song. When my folks took the family to see Peter, Paul and Mary, they explained that the line is "lives by the sea" and not "lived by the sea." Even after Little Jackie Paper grows up, Puff waits for the next someone. Otherwise, it's too sad.

What a great song!
